One of the things that’s been really helpful so far is the newly acquired habit of getting dressed and putting shoes and socks on as soon as I wake up. What I used to do was wander groggily from the bedroom to the kitchen to click on the kettle and thenceforth, to the kids’ rooms to wake them up too. It was fine, it all worked, after a fashion but this new habit, for such a small change, is pretty dramatic, for me.

As soon as I stand in my laced shoes, dressed and ready for the day, I feel more….able, more alert, more ready to move. More comfortable even, as my shoes cradle my feet and give me a strange sense of security.

Speaking of being ready, it’s time to walk! 🙂
